Your Responsible Gambling Toolkit

Every one of these tools is available to all pk1957 account holders from day one — accessible inside your Account Settings at any time, free of charge.

Deposit Limits

Set a maximum amount you can deposit into your pk1957 account per day, week or month. Once your limit is reached, you cannot deposit further funds until the period resets. Increasing a limit requires a mandatory 24-hour cooling period before it takes effect.

How to activate: Account Settings → Responsible Gambling → Deposit Limits. Changes take effect immediately when reducing; 24 hours when increasing.

Loss Limits

Set the maximum amount you are comfortable losing within a defined period. When your net losses reach this threshold, you will be automatically locked out from placing further bets until the period resets. This is one of the most effective tools for managing gambling spend in PKR terms.

How to activate: Account Settings → Responsible Gambling → Loss Limits. Immediate effect when setting or reducing your limit.

Session Time Reminders

It is easy to lose track of time during a live PSL match or a live casino session. Session time reminders send you a notification when you have been logged in for a specified duration — 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours or a custom period you define — giving you a natural moment to pause and reflect.

How to activate: Account Settings → Responsible Gambling → Session Reminders. Choose your preferred alert interval.

Wager Limits

In addition to deposit and loss limits, you can cap the maximum value of individual bets you place per day, week or month. This is particularly useful for cricket bet slips where accumulators can quickly reach large PKR totals that exceed your intended budget.

How to activate: Account Settings → Responsible Gambling → Wager Limits. Reductions take effect immediately.

Cool-Down Period

A cool-down is a temporary break from gambling — 24 hours, 48 hours, 1 week, 2 weeks or up to 6 weeks. During a cool-down your account is suspended and you cannot log in, deposit or bet. You will continue to receive responsible gambling communications but no promotional material. Cool-downs end automatically when the selected period expires.

How to activate: Account Settings → Responsible Gambling → Take a Break. Instant effect upon selection.

Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion is our most powerful intervention tool. It permanently closes your Account for a defined minimum period — typically six months, one year, five years or permanently — and cannot be reversed during the exclusion period. Once self-excluded, you must not attempt to open a new Account; doing so is a breach of our Terms & Conditions.

How to activate: Account Settings → Responsible Gambling → Self-Exclusion, OR contact our support team directly for immediate assistance.

Setting Limits That Stick

At pk1957, we deliberately make it easier to lower your limits than to raise them. This asymmetry is intentional — designed to protect you from impulsive decisions made in the heat of a PSL match or during a live casino session. Here is how every limit type works in practice.

Whether you are playing from Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad, your limits apply across all devices and all sessions. You cannot bypass a limit by switching from mobile to desktop, clearing cookies or logging in from a different network.

📌 The Golden Rule

Only gamble with money you can afford to lose. Your deposit limit should never exceed your entertainment budget — not your rent, savings, family expenses or emergency funds.

Reducing a Limit

Any reduction to a deposit, loss, wager or session limit takes effect immediately once confirmed. There is no waiting period. We make reducing limits as frictionless as possible.

Instant
Increasing a Limit

Requests to increase any limit are subject to a mandatory 24-hour delay before taking effect. This cooling period gives you time to reconsider whether the increase is genuinely aligned with your budget.

24h Delay
Activating Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion takes effect immediately upon confirmation and cannot be reversed during the exclusion period. Any balance remaining in the Account at the time of exclusion will be returned to your verified payment method.

Instant
After Self-Exclusion Expires

When a timed self-exclusion period ends, your Account is not automatically reactivated. You must contact our support team to confirm that you are ready to return to responsible play. A responsible gambling check-in is required.

Manual
Monitoring Your Activity

Your Account provides a full transaction history, bet history, session log and responsible gambling summary. We encourage you to review this regularly — especially before and after major cricket tournaments or sporting events.

Recognising Problem Gambling

Problem gambling rarely announces itself clearly. It typically develops gradually — a few extra bets here, a slightly stretched budget there. These are some of the behaviours that may indicate gambling has moved beyond healthy entertainment.

01

Gambling with money set aside for rent, bills, groceries or family expenses — treating gaming as a financial strategy rather than entertainment.

02

Chasing losses — placing larger or more frequent bets after a losing session in an attempt to recover money you have already lost.

03

Feeling restless, irritable or anxious when unable to gamble, or feeling a compulsion to gamble at increasing amounts to get the same feeling of excitement.

04

Concealing the extent of your gambling from family members, friends or colleagues — hiding deposit notifications, withdrawing cash, or making excuses for time spent gambling.

05

Borrowing money — from friends, family, or through personal loans or credit cards — specifically to fund gambling activity or to pay off gambling-related debts.

06

Neglecting personal or professional responsibilities because of gambling — missing work deadlines, family commitments or social events to spend time placing bets.

07

Mood becoming closely tied to gambling outcomes — feeling elated after wins and deeply distressed, angry or hopeless after losses in a way that affects daily life.

08

Repeatedly trying to cut back or stop gambling without success — setting limits for yourself that you then override, or experiencing failed attempts to take breaks voluntarily.

Recognise any of these? You are not alone, and there is no shame in acknowledging a problem. The most important step is reaching out. Contact our support team at [email protected] or use the self-exclusion tool in your Account Settings right now.

Ask Yourself These Questions

Honest self-reflection is one of the most powerful tools in responsible gambling. Read through the following questions and consider your answers honestly. If you answer "yes" to two or more, we strongly encourage you to make use of our limit-setting tools or to contact support.

1

Have you ever gambled with money that was allocated for essential expenses — rent, food, bills, school fees or family costs?

2

Do you find yourself thinking about gambling frequently — planning your next session, thinking about past results, or calculating how much you could win during work or family time?

3

Have you ever chased losses — placed additional bets specifically to recover money you had already lost — rather than accepting the loss and stopping?

4

Has anyone close to you — family, a friend or a colleague — expressed concern about how much time or money you spend on gambling?

5

Have you borrowed money, used credit cards or taken out loans specifically to fund gambling activity or to cover gambling-related losses?

6

Have you tried to cut back or stop gambling, and found that you could not stick to your own decision — even when you genuinely intended to?

7

Does gambling significantly affect your mood — leaving you anxious, irritable or deeply distressed after losses, or highly euphoric and reckless after wins?

8

Have you ever hidden your gambling activity, deposit history or the extent of your losses from someone in your household or close circle?

If you answered "yes" to two or more of these questions, we recommend activating a cool-down period or deposit limit immediately, and contacting our support team. This is not a clinical diagnostic tool — it is a reflection prompt. If you have concerns about problem gambling, please speak to a qualified support professional.

Gamblers Anonymous (GA)

Gamblers Anonymous is an international fellowship of individuals who share their experience, strength and hope with each other in order to solve their common problem and help others recover from gambling disorder. GA operates on a peer-support, anonymous basis and is widely accessible internationally, including for Pakistani members online.

Information: Available internationally — search "Gamblers Anonymous" for current contact listings in your region.
👨‍👩‍👧
Gam-Anon (Family Support)

Gam-Anon provides support specifically for the family members and friends of people with gambling problems. Problem gambling affects entire households — not just the individual player. Gam-Anon offers confidential peer support for those living with or affected by a loved one's gambling behaviour.

Information: Available internationally alongside Gamblers Anonymous resources.
🧠
Professional Counselling

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a clinically recognised treatment for gambling disorder. Many qualified therapists in Pakistan — including in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad — offer counselling for behavioural addictions. Speaking to a licensed mental health professional is one of the most effective steps available to those struggling with problem gambling.

Recommendation: Speak to your GP or a licensed mental health practitioner to obtain a referral.
📞
Mental Health Helplines

Several mental health helplines operate in Pakistan and are accessible to individuals experiencing distress related to gambling, financial pressure or related anxiety and depression. If you are in crisis, please reach out to a mental health helpline or emergency services in your area immediately.

Note: Contact details for current Pakistani mental health helplines can be found through local health authority directories.
📚
Financial Debt Guidance

Gambling-related financial difficulties are common and can be addressed with proper professional guidance. If gambling has resulted in debt — whether through personal loans, credit cards or borrowed funds — speaking to a financial counsellor or debt-management professional can help you develop a sustainable recovery plan.

Note: Consult a qualified financial advisor or debt counsellor for personalised guidance relevant to your situation.

Responsible Gambling FAQs

pk1957 is strictly for adults aged 18 years or older — or the higher minimum age required by the applicable operator or license jurisdiction, whichever is greater. Age verification (KYC) is mandatory for all accounts and is conducted before any withdrawal is processed. Any Account found to be held by an underage person will be immediately closed, and deposits returned in accordance with our compliance procedures.

No. Self-exclusion is irrevocable for its stated duration and cannot be cancelled or shortened once activated. This is intentional — the tool is designed to provide a genuine, firm commitment to take a break from gambling. When a timed exclusion period ends, your Account is not automatically reactivated; you must contact our support team and complete a responsible gambling check-in before returning to the Platform.

Any reduction to a deposit limit, loss limit, wager limit or session time limit takes effect immediately upon confirmation — no waiting period applies. This is a deliberate design choice: we make it as easy as possible to reduce your exposure. Requests to increase a limit are subject to a mandatory 24-hour delay to allow reflection time before the increase becomes active.

Any confirmed, withdrawable balance in your Account at the time of self-exclusion will be returned to your verified payment method. Bonus funds and any balance subject to unmet wagering requirements are forfeited upon self-exclusion in accordance with our Terms & Conditions. We will process the return as promptly as technically feasible, subject to standard KYC compliance checks.

pk1957 can only self-exclude an account holder upon their own request. We cannot manage access controls for third parties on behalf of another person. If you are concerned about a family member's gambling — for example, a spouse, parent or child — we recommend having an open conversation and, if appropriate, encouraging them to use our self-exclusion tools or to contact our support team directly. Professional family support is available through organisations such as Gam-Anon, referenced in the support section above.

pk1957 does not provide legal advice and we do not make definitive claims about the legality of online gambling in Pakistan. Gambling in Pakistan is subject to significant legal restrictions, including the Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977 and other applicable statutes. pk1957 does not claim to be licensed, approved or authorised by the Government of Pakistan, the PTA, the State Bank of Pakistan or any provincial authority. Users are solely responsible for ensuring that their use of the Platform complies with all laws applicable in their jurisdiction.
